I remember visiting the Getty Museum many years ago and being captivated by Van Gogh's "Irises" painting. Since then, I have always associated the exquisite iris with Van Gogh's beautiful yet tragic life.
I created this vibrant, stylized, handmade porcelain pendant inspired by irises. No detail is overlooked in this piece! I fired the pendant with colorful blue and yellow glazes and 22kt gold. I then finished the necklace with a handmade branch toggle clasp. The blue iris pendant hangs on a gold-plated, 18 inch brass chain.
The entire necklace is hand fabricated by myself in my studio in sunny San Diego. The blue iris pendant is handmade of porcelain and fired with 22kt gold details. The clasp in the back is fashioned to resemble tree branches and leaves. All parts are solid and well-made, bearing a nice weight when worn.
