This particular species of flying squirrel is native to Japan. If you are curious to see him in real life, head over to the forests on the islands of Honshu and Kyushu. He is called a flying squirrel because he can glide from tree to tree by means of an extra flap of skin that connects from his wrists to his ankles.
It was love at first sight when I first discovered this squirrel! His large dark eyes and rounded appearance made him extra adorable! I decided to capture this squirrel in bronze and enhance his features with colorful resin.
