When I was a student in high school, our biology class had a vegetable garden. Part of our duties was to maintain and care for the garden. One day, we were given the task of distributing ladybugs to help control the aphid population. I still remember how fun it was to hold the little ladybugs in my hands and carefully place them amongst the plants. I wanted to make my own whimsical take on a ladybug and give her a colorful pink and turquoise blue makeover!
The ladybug necklace is made of tarnish-resistant, recycled sterling silver and colored in resin. The clasp in the back is fashioned to resemble tree branches and leaves. The entire necklace is handmade by me in my jewelry studio in sunny San Diego.
