How did the French bulldog become affectionately named “Frenchie”? The original French bulldog was actually first bred in England as a miniature version of the standard bulldog. They were very popular companions of the lace-makers of Nottingham in the early 18th century. When many English lace-makers emigrated to France for economic reasons, they took their beloved French bulldogs with them.
Our version of the adorable Frenchie was handmade in porcelain and required three separate firings to achieve a miniature with black and white markings with 22kt gold accents. fired with 22kt gold accents. As a bonus, he comes with a golden bone accessory!
All porcelain sculptures are handmade by the artist in sunny San Diego. Because each figurine is sculpted by hand, not cast from a mold, slight variations make each Frenchie a one-of-a-kind creation. All ceramic figurines are packaged in a beautiful gift box, perfect for gift giving! Because each piece is made to order, please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery. I will keep you posted on the progress of your piece.
